General Overview

Notes: I tried this tyre as other rider’s reviews sparked my curiosity. The first thing I noticed when fitting this tyre is that the casing has extremely stiff sidewalls. Surprisingly though, it was very easy to fit and remove by hand.

It performs on par with other tyres of similar tread pattern. For general adventure riding on tarmac, gravel road and typical off-road terrain, it is predictable, well-behaved and performs well.

The only area that this tyre didn't excel for me is in technical loose terrain, especially steep loose inclines. The stiff sidewalls means that even at 8 PSI I could not get a decent footprint from the tyre and it would break traction readily. Running standard tubes I prefer not to go any lower than 8 PSI so for me, this is something that can't be rectified. A riding buddy who has the Tubliss system runs 0 PSI in this tyre to counteract the stiff sidewalls and is very happy with the footprint and traction.

For those not too concerned with scrambling up steep technical loose terrain, this won't be an issue. For general adventure riding this is a good tyre. If you are riding in areas where there are sharp rocks, the stiff sidewalls will provide ample protection against tyre damage.
