Mototokens and big Browns
Another great day in Karamea. After finishing up some computer work in the morning it was off on the bike to set some Mototokens. Some of the places visited looked exactly the same as the last time I was here over a year ago, others however were drastically changed as a result of wild West Coast weather.

After a great ride and a few walks up tracks and creeks, it was on with the fly fishing gear and up a local river. Volatile spring weather meant the rivers have been running high and discoloured the majority of the month, but a break from rain over the last five days meant it was low, clear and perfect for sight fishing. I fished a new stretch of a favourite river and was impressed by the fish numbers and quality. The one I am lifting here for a pic is a cracking Brown dressed in a superb golden suit. Brilliant stuff!
