LAMBING SEASON !!!! Alexandra

Hey Everyone, it was suppose to be a nice ride on a day off exploring new places so I went off to Alexandra to Little Valley rd. hoping to get to the Upper Manorburn Reservoir. It is a nice place to ride as you go to the view point of Alexandra- nicely elevated panoramic view, but going ahead there is a gravel road in very nice condition, few of a nice bends to practice cornering on dirt (however used by some cars, as there is access to the farms) I got to the end of it just realizing that all the gates have padlocks, yep forgotten about little white four legged animals, it is lambing season, so before you go check whether you are not entering farmlands with sheep if so riding may end up sooner than you think just like in my case.

Looked at the map and realized that there may be a way round, so went back towards Galloway and then turned right, again nice dirt road starts later on with good bends and nice views as the road is climbing up. However again it ends up with a locked gate, that area is closed from 1st Tuesday of June until 30th of September. Not a great success this time… Decided to get back to Lower Manorburn for a little lunch and then went back to the beginning of Little Valley rd. as there is a great moto park, single trails, lots of bumps, some places with good jumps, lots of options and places to explore, they put some signs to give way even, good fun you should try just remeber to call John Sanders on 034487806 and he will give you the conditions of access!

And remember LAMBING SEASON !!!
