Klim - Badlands Pro Pants review by harty7

great pants overall

i managed to get these pants brand new but with tags removed from someone who must have brought them from overseas and they didnt fit him he needed the 38 long leg, these pants are a 38 regular and klim seem to be a nz type fit unlike the crazy sizing rubbish from a lot of other adventure gear!(i also run a 38 in fox gear,so if you have moto gear it seems to translate quite well). the first thing i had to do was get rid of the tailbone protector as i have damaged mine and the protector caused alot of discomfort,i also removed the kneeguards as i prefer my existing knee protectors. i spent 12 days riding in these pants and they are versatile,in the heat you can open up all the vents and get fantastic cooling, when its cold or raining you can zip everything up and plow on. i preferred to run long johns over my kneeguards and pushbike undershorts to stop the sticky feeling on a hot day. the over the boot system is worth mentioning to,as its the best i have tried to date, the zips with dome closers at the bottom secure the pants very securely, and dont flap in the wind. the fit is pretty good but i might try the braces to just hold up the back side a bit more. what i didnt like was after a few days a tooth went missing on the left hand pocket where i kept my wallet, and after a small low speed whoopsie going through a gate i put a small hole in the knee...nothing is indestructible but i was expecting it to be more robust than that! all in all the venting is a big drawcard for this pant, along with its waterproof goretex which kept me comfortable through some serious west coast rain!
