Exploring new routes #356 - the return trip

This leg was a return trip from Omarama, through Haast Pass and back up the West Coast to Karamea. I spent three days working my way up and having a look at a few new gravel/4X4 tracks on the way. From the entire 3 weeks I have a ton of new tracks and campsites to go up on the website which will follow soon.

Lindis Pass. I did a lot of tarmac on this trip, normally Iíd be itching for off road stuff but with the weather being so good and such inviting roads it made for many enjoyable cruzy days

With the day running out I parked up for the night, this was the set of cabins I stayed in at Lake Hawea Holiday Park, all dressed up in bright colours

I pulled over to let this herd past, I have never seen such number of playful sheep, leaping and frolicking all over the place. I thought it may have been something in the grass so I had three big mouthfuls myself, I didnít feel any different nor did I feel like frolicking so I carried on my way

After staying in Ross the night I headed north up the old rail track. It is becoming overgrown in gorse, if it is not cut back soon itíll soon be unrideable

Itíll be a shame if this track becomes too overgrown as it has some cool views over the wetlands
